Updating after the reveal
The person commits gut, head, heart and a final number before any machine number is shown. That rule has no exceptions.
After the reveal the card offers one optional sweep: Land again? It never replaces the answer.

When a forecast resolves, the Brier score of updated_read is compared with that of final_pre_reveal, so the record can say, per class: "When you moved toward the machine, it helped X of Y times."
